About Our Pastor

Hi there! My name is Gabe Bales. I have been a lifelong churchgoer. I was raised with a strong belief in Jesus. Out of High School, I attended Abilene Christian University in Texas where I studied Youth and Family Ministry. After two and a half years at ACU, I met my wife, Cherina, and moved back home to Oregon and we began our family. We have 3 kids, Chase, Emma, and Anna. I am a General Contractor (Home Builder) by trade and continue to do that as my everyday job. I have been a worship leader for the last 11-12 years at Powell Butte Christian Church as well as an elder there. I am currently continuing my Biblical studies through Calvary Chapel University.

Family Man

I am an everyday guy who loves Jesus, sports, hunting, playing the guitar, waterskiing and a good hard day’s work. I realize that not everyone has grown up in the Church as I have. I see the need for a place where people who may be seeking a relationship with Jesus can come in and relax and not feel overwhelmed by the church building or traditions of a Church. Yes, we will still be doing church things like singing songs of praise and worship, taking communion, learning from God’s word and praying together. These are essential. We will also be doing life together, eating meals, drinking coffee, recreating and most importantly, encouraging one another into a deeper relationship with Jesus.

Everyday Guy

I know in these times we are living, there is a lot of uncertainty about the future. I know this one thing to be true. Without a relationship with Jesus Christ, we are all hopelessly lost. God has promised a future and a hope of an eternal home with Him someday. That was made possible because Jesus Christ came and gave His life as a ransom for our sins. He paid the price so we wouldn’t have to. John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.”
