Our Statement of Faith

THE BIBLE

We believe the Bible is the inspired and inerrant Word of God. Its teaching is the sole authority for Christian life in matters of both faith and practice.

GOD

We believe in the unity of the Godhead, eternally existing in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

God the Father, Creator of the Heavens and the Earth, and all that is in them. He is the supreme authority, sustainer, provider, protector, and the one who draws men to Himself.

God the Son, in the person of Jesus Christ. Both fully God and fully man, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary, and living a perfectly sinless life. We believe in the physical death, burial, and resurrection from the dead, ascension into Heaven, and eventual return to the earth to take His Church to be with Him in Heaven.

God the Holy Spirit, who indwells and guarantees every believer at the moment of faith. The ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify the Lord Jesus, to convict man of sin, to re-create the believer into the image of Jesus, and to act as our spiritual counselor, teacher, and guide, empowering every believer to do His service until the Lord returns.

HUMANITY

We believe the man was created in the image of God, but fell into disobedience by a voluntary decision and as a result became separated from God, and dead in our sins. The sinful nature of man has taken every good thing designed by God and has perverted it to suit his own evil desires.

Because of this, we believe that all people stand guilty before a holy God, and, unable to save themselves in their own power.

We believe in the eternal destiny of all humanity: some to eternal life in Heaven, and some to eternal separation from God as a direct consequence of being dead in their sins.

MARRIAGE

God created marriage. It is a covenant made between a man and a woman that makes them one (Gen 2: 22, 24; Matt 19: 5-6).

SALVATION

We believe in the substitutionary atoning death of Jesus Christ on the cross, which served as a perfect sacrifice to pay the penalty for the sins of mankind. We believe that those who come to faith in Jesus, and who profess him as Lord and Savior, are offered complete forgiveness by the grace of God.

THE CHURCH

We believe that God has called people into relationship with Himself, and that those who have come to faith in Jesus are united together into one body known as “the Church.” We believe that the Holy Spirit endows the Church with spiritual gifts and empowers God’s people to fulfill God’s purposes for the expansion of His Kingdom in the fulfillment of the Great Commission.

As members of the Church, it is our privilege and responsibility to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace, supporting the local church, spreading the gospel of Jesus, and loving one another with pure hearts.
